David Meaney, MPS, APGA.
It all started with…
completing my PGA training in 2006 with a Merit grade. After playing professional golf out of the Irish Region/Irish winter tours and winning 2 events I landed my first teaching position in 2007. Teaching out of Herzogeauarach, Germany I gained a lot of experience and knowledge teaching the golf swing. Four years later I began working at Taylor Made's European flagship fitting centre.
After a short period of time club fitting, I moved back into teaching and in 2011 began coaching in North London with the Cranfield Golf Academy. The Cranfield Academy (Steven Orr) helped me craft my coaching skills, addressing areas of coaching outside of swing technique such as pedagogy, psychology, biomechanics and motor control learning.
In 2013 I became Head Professional at Golf Club Lauterhofen, Germany. My role at GC Lauterhofen involved coached a range of golfing abilities such as, PGA Members, Juniors, experienced golfers, beginners and Club Teams (men and women). I also managed to complete an Advanced Coaching Certificate, upgrade to Advanced PGA Member and complete a Masters degree in Elite Performance out of UCLan. Off the back of my Masters, I presented my findings in the first GOLFX Webinar to fellow PGA Members (100+ attendees).
I am now posted as the Golf Development Professional at The Bristol Golf Club since October 2017. I am excited about the future, working with The Bristol GC.
